Grade 12, Math project

The math project of this year talks about SAT & sequences, it shows us how we can create the SAT worksheet and learn what we expect do be in there, also the project helps us to develop the skill of teamwork, leadership, and responsibility, in addition, it would be teaching us how to answer questions of SAT with helpful tips and techniques.

First of all, lets start with Task 1which asks a couple of questions about the SAT exam, and how it's taken in ATHS.

Question one:
What is the SAT exam?  it's a suite of tools designed to assess your academic readiness for college. This exam provide a path to opportunities, financial support and scholarships, in a way that's fair to all students.

Question two:
What is the target score of SAT exam for ATHS students? it's 550 and above.

Question Three:
How is the SAT test scored?
1- first they calculate your row score.
2- and then they calculate your final score and convert it to the SAT scale.

Question Four:
Mention 10 tips to score more in the SAT test.

1-    Use Process of Elimination (POE). Get rid of as many wrong choices as you can
2-    Answer every question only if you can eliminate answer choices. Unlike taking the ACT, you are penalized ¼ point when you get an answer wrong on the SAT test
3-    Leave any question blank where you can't identify at least one wrong choice, except for the math grid-ins. There will be questions (not too many) on the test that you'll have no idea how to answer
4-    Write in the test booklet. Use your pencil to physically scratch out wrong choices, write down formulas and equations, solve math problems
5-    Transfer your questions at the end of each section. Instead of going back and forth between the scantron and the test booklet, just write your answers in the test booklet and transfer them over at the end of every section/page
6-    Slow down. It's very hard to finish all the problems and maintain accuracy. Slow down a little bit, answer fewer questions correctly instead of guessing at the entire lot
7-    Choose which questions to answer first
8-    Remember the order of difficulty. Because each section is arranged from easiest to most difficult, the obvious answers toward the beginning of a section may actually be correct
9-    Cross-check your ovals. If you have time at the end of a section, cross-check your answers with your scantron ovals
10-Don't second-guess yourself

Question Five:
What is the minimum number of correct answers you need from each section to reach the target score?
You have to get 34 correct questions or above in the 3 sections in order to score 550 minimum. (with NO WRONG answers because they deducts some marks on wrong answers).
Which means 8 correct Questions in each section

Now we will move on to Task 2, where we make our own SAT worksheet, with questions that are, Arithmetic, geometric, Algebra, Statistics, and probabilities, with our own described answers.

Finally moving on to Task 3, where we solve 3 sequence equations that were given to us.

and that was the last task.

Thank you for reading, and we hope that you got benefited from this post.
